I am reaching my fourth year in Spain this October, and in the spirit of that celebration, I wanted to thank my friends and family for offering their genuine support in my endeavors to live abroad and form a life here. It is said that as one grows older, the circle of friends gets smaller. While this may be true, I still want to acknowledge those around for encouraging me to follow my passions and embark on wild adventures.

Back in the summer of 2021, I went back to California. I was unsure of what my next step in life would be. I was torn between staying or returning to Spain; I was simply so afraid of making the "wrong" choice. So as any millennial with an Instagram would do, I posted a story expressing my thoughts and feelings about coming to terms with a decision. To my amazement, many people responded with helpful suggestions and comments. It felt so motivating to know that many people happened to live some truth of their own through my own experiences. I was moved by the supportive messages, and as for my decision to move back to Spain- it was well received.

Here are a few of those messaged which have inspired me to write this thank you blog post.

Now I want to take the time to respond to those messages and say:

"I hope you too have pursued what makes you happy. No one will ever know if the choices we make will ever be the best ones. However, it is clear that there is no better feelings than pursuing love and true happiness on our own terms. Life is scary that way, but there is no life well spent in the pleasure of knowing that we will one day be overcome with joy by the decisions we take. May we continue to stay in touch because no distance can ever stop us from encouraging one another. It is the power of support and true friendship."
