If you're a major Game of Thrones fan and you're visiting Spain I highly recommend you go and visit the magical island in the north called: San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. It is located between two coastal towns called Bakio and Bermeo in Basque Country.

Not only is it a beautiful island that can be seen from a parallel viewpoint; you can also walk through the stone bridge with a 241-step staircase. At the top of the island is a church which in turn has been reconstructed several times due to various fires during battles.

Today San Juan de Gaztelugatxe has been visited by more than 75,000 tourist each month due to its television appearance in the show: Game of Thrones. For those interested in fandom facts, this island is known as the home of the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen.

According to many articles and travel magazines Gaztelugatxe is considered to be "the most voted wonder" and "most valued". In fact, once you see this monument in the north I am sure to say that your Game of Thrones filming locations won't stop there. Here is a helpful website to explore more: GOT filming locations Basque Country .
